On April 4, 2026 Kansas passed the Pharmacist Practice Authority Act (HB 2068) which allows a pharmacist to initiate therapy for a condition that does not require a new diagnosis, which would include hormonal and non-hormonal contraception. This law will go into effect on July 1, 2026.
Training
General Pharmacist Contraception Services Training Program
Pharmacists in Kansas may initiate therapy “consistent with the pharmacist’s education, training and experience; and within the accepted standard of care that would be provided in
a similar setting by a reasonable and prudent pharmacist with similar education, training and experience”
