Lights, Camera, Access: Contraception Care at the Pharmacy
Recent policy changes have expanded pharmacists’ ability to provide contraception care, including prescribing hormonal, nonhormonal, and emergency contraceptives. We will discuss the pharmacist’s role in increasing access to over-the-counter and prescription-only contraceptives, with a focus on pharmacist-prescribing. This session provides pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with the knowledge and tools to implement pharmacy-based contraception care services, including navigating state-specific policies, pharmacy workflow and operations, and utilizing technology.
